General Announcement - November 24 cancelled

The planned FinDock November ‘24 release to production this Sunday, November 24th, has been cancelled. All features and bug fixes will be released with the regularly planned FinDock January ‘25 release.

Why are we doing this?

In Winter ‘25, Salesforce introduced a bug affecting all ISV packages that impacts all FinDock customers. A FinDock release will cause all updates to FinDock permission set groups to be lost, potentially breaking critical functionality. Salesforce intends to fix this bug mid December with an intermediate patch release, so future releases of FinDock will not be impacted.

This Salesforce bug came to light only a week ago after FinDock investigated an issue report from a FinDock customer, where FinDock determined this Salesforce bug likely impacts all ISVs. We’ve tried everything to mitigate this issue from a FinDock perspective, but unfortunately no feasible solution has been found. Conversations with Salesforce also have not led to a timely resolution.

Without significant manual actions from all our customers in coordination with our release we cannot guarantee the continuity of FinDock if we proceed with the planned release. To prevent significant disruptions we are taking this extraordinary step to ensure operational continuity for all FinDock customers.

When will the functionality be released?

The holiday season is a critical time for many of our customers. So we have decided not to postpone the release for a few weeks until after the Salesforce fix, but cancel it completely. We plan to release the functionality of the Nov. ‘24 release with the regularly planned Jan. ‘25 release.

We will be contacting specific customers who are anticipating certain business critical enhancements from the Nov. ‘24 release to align on how to handle this situation.

How can I get more information?

We understand that this may be an unpleasant surprise, and we want to give you the opportunity to ask your questions. We will be holding a webinar next Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 16:00 CET, to explain our decisions and provide more context. If you would like to join, please register using the link below.

WEBINAR - Nov. 24 Release Announcement

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We sincerely believe that this is the best way forward in accordance with our values. FinDock is a critical product for many of our customers, and we believe stability and reliability outweigh the risks caused by this Salesforce issue.

Kind regards,

Hartger Olivier (VP Customer Success & Operations)
Stefan van der Knaap (CPO)
