# iDEAL

Extremely popular in the Netherlands and available internationally, [iDEAL](https://www.ideal.nl/en/) is an online payment method similar to [Bancontact](/docs/payment-processors/payment-methods/bancontact). It enables secure, direct money transfer form a payer's bank account to the online merchant. Dutch banks typically offer iDEAL as part of their online banking services.
