# QR-bill

QR-bill is a payment method that [replaces ESR](https://www.postfinance.ch/en/about-us/media/newsroom/press-releases/inpayment-slips-withdrawn-market-2022.html). The ESR payment reference structure is still used, but QR-bill introduces a new payment slip and QR code payment capability for easier online payments.

The [Swiss Payment Standards initiative](https://www.paymentstandards.ch/en/home.html) oversees the QR-bill specification and guides harmonization of payments in Switzerland.
