# Can I change the time when automated payment schedules run?

With automated collection, payment schedules are picked up and processed with the [FinDock Heart Beat](/docs/setup/configure-findock-core#configure-general-settings) that continuously runs in the background. The time when the job looks for payment schedules to run is defined by the Heartbeats custom setting.

By default the time is 03:00, but you can [change the custom setting](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.cs_detail.htm&type=5) if needed by editing the Starting Hour for RecurringPaymentScheduleBeat and GeneratePaymentSchedulesBeat.

We recommend using the same time for both, but if needed, RecurringPaymentScheduleBeat can be set to run before GeneratePaymentSchedulesBeat.
