FinDock Setup

The enhanced FinDock Setup is available to everyone and is a fully functional alternative to the "classic" setup, though we are formally still in beta.

As you can see from the screenshot below, FinDock Setup is a complete redesign of FinDock settings to take advantage of the latest Salesforce capabilities. Our aim is to provide an intuitive, unified experience that helps guide you through the setup process

In practice, every org still has the classic Setup tab in addition to the enhanced FinDock Setup tab. We encourage everyone to use the new setup and share your feedback with us.

To be able to use the new FinDock Setup, Salesforce Lightning Web Security (LWS) must be enabled. If it is not, you can enable LWS manually. You also need the FinDock Administrator permission set group to access FinDock Setup.

Package management and deployment

The enhanced setup experience enables you to install and activate source connector and payment extension packages directly from the Salesforce interface. You still use the standalone FinDock Installer for installing FinDock from scratch (Core and other required packages), but you can install additional packages at any time through FinDock Setup.

In the classic setup, you had a dedicated Deploy config button to click every time something was updated. In the new FinDock Setup, deploying configuration changes is automatic.

The new deployment framework uses an external FinDock app running on Heroku. You are automatically prompted to allow the app to access your org when needed. Please note that when prompted, the current user account needs to have FinDock admin permissions alongside standard Salesforce admin permissions. Authorization expires after some hours of idle time.

Typically, the automatic deployment mechanism is triggered and completes as expected. However, in certain conditions, such as a temporary network connection issue, deployment may get interrupted. If your org is not in light with your latest configuration changes, you can manually start deployment from the Configuration Deployment tab under Processors & Methods.
